A New School Year

School started the first week of September with Walker going to his first Parents Morning Out (PMO) on Tuesday.  He will be attending Resurrection United Methodist Church every Tuesday from 9:15-12:15.  On his first day, he did better than I ever expected!  We were a little nervous at drop off because there were a couple of little ones crying in his room but he had no problem being passed off to one of his teachers.  For pick up, all the parents wait in the lobby and hold up our sign with our child's name on it.  The school director radios back to the teachers as she sees your sign.  So once it was our turn we moved to the front of the line to watch for little man to come out.  He came walking out of his classroom holding his teachers hand and once he saw me and Savannah his little legs took off running.  Unfortunately his legs were wanting to go faster than his teachers.  So feeling like he was being pulled back caused the tears to start.  Mrs. Michelle, his lead teacher, said he never once cried until the very end and overall he had a wonderful morning.  We are all so proud of our little man!

Savannah started her first day of Pony Pals the day after Walker's first day.  She is now going to Westminster five days a week from 9am to either noon or 1:00 depending on if she decides to stay for lunch that day.  Out of 18 kids in her class, there are a lot of familiar faces but a few new students as well.  She already loves her new teachers, Mrs. Morris and Mrs. Neil.  I can't believe this will be her last year of preschool and she'll be headed off to kindergarten next year......where has the time gone?!?

love these two!!!
So we're off to a great start for this school year!  I look forward to watching these two grow and learn lots of new things.  And I'm also excited about having one morning a week to myself to do whatever I want ALONE! Although I must admit, I may have shed a tear or two that first Tuesday :)
