The weather is starting to cool a bit (at least on some days) so we've been enjoying playing outside after school and on the weekends. We've just discovered the walking/hiking trails that our behind the Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill and the kids love to go out there and get in nature.
And now that it's October, it's time for our annual fall trip to the mountains. This year we decided to go back to The Greenbriar in West Virginia. Unfortunately, we went a little too early to see the fall foliage and it was still a little bit warm but we had a wonderful time.

I really love this place that I call the Sea Island of the Mountains. It gives us a chance to get away from all the distractions at home, put down the electronics (at least for most of the weekend), and enjoy playing outside as a family. One day it may be nice to visit during the holidays. I can only imagine how beautiful the grounds are at Christmastime.
