Heading back to school is the first sign that fall is on the way. The second sign is that it's time to go apple picking. Back to Millstone Creek Orchards we go.
It's unfortunate that the only orchard close to us is becoming so popular that their crops are being over picked. We spent at least 10 minutes just looking for a tree that still had apples. Finally we found a row but all that was left were Granny Smith apples. That won't work for making pies without buying another variety at the supermarket. So this may be our last year visiting this spot and next year we just might have to head to the mountains. This is such a favorite tradition for our little family that I hate for it to end. Time to research the next closest spot.
