The kiddos and I flew to Boston on Friday September 12. Oscar left a few hours ahead of us so it was super easy flight since we didn't have to worry about taking and checking our luggage. We took a cab from the airport to our hotel which was conveniently located right across from Boston Square. The kids and I walked around the park, found a carousel to ride, and had a quick lunch at Panera before heading to our room for Walker to take a nap. A couple of hours later we were back in the park feeding the swans and ducks. The weather was absolutely perfect---crisp, low 60s, and bright sunshine. We walked everywhere within a two mile radius and soaked up all the sights. Boston really is a beautiful town. There area we were in reminds me so much of London.....the small, clean streets; old, historic buildings; beautiful flowers. If the winters weren't so cold I would definitely want to live there someday.

Saturday morning I did a quick workout in the hotel gym and then we headed out to grab a quick breakfast before meeting the Austin family for a Duck Tour. We all loved the tour! Once our ride made it into the river all the kids were given the chance to drive the boat.

The USC/Boston College game was at eight o'clock Saturday night so I decided that the kids and I would go for the tailgating part and then we would take a cab back to the hotel while Oscar stayed for the game. However, the downpour that started as soon as we got to the school changed all the plans. After spending an hour pushing the stroller through the rain and puddles, we finally made it to the tailgating spot (this school is the absolute worst when it comes to tailgating). We socialized, ate, and then all four of us headed back to the hotel. Oscar joined LoAn and Carter in the hotel bar to watch the game on tv and I went to bed with the kiddos. Oscar had to do a 12 mile run in the morning which meant I had to get up extra early to get my run in so he could get out early, too. After one final meet up with the Austins for breakfast, the Alvarez family headed to the Boston Children's Museum. The kids spent a couple of hours climbing, jumping, and exploring before it was time to head back to the airport.

It was such a nice weekend!! Sometimes these quick trips aren't always worth the effort but this one was really a lot of fun and I'm so glad we all decided to go. It was nice to see the Austin family and it was so nice to get out of the 90 degree temps at home and to feel a little fall-like weather. I already can't wait to visit again!
