Last Friday we left the house at the crack of dawn to fly to Orlando to spend the weekend at Disney World. Grams met up with us at the airport and we immediately headed to the Disney Studios park. After a rather difficult time trying to g into the park due to miscommunications about the new Disney wrist bands, we headed straight to lunch at the Disney Jr Cafe. I am so glad I just happened upon this character restaurant because it was one of my favorite spots. Savannah only watches Disney Jr at home so I knew she would love any and all of the characters. First she met June from Little Einsteinsm then Special Agent Oso, followed by Handy Manny, and lastly Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Needless so say, she was beyond thrilled.
After lunch we watched a show featuring Doc McStuffins, Sophia the First, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Then we rode theToy Story 3D ride, p,aged in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids set, and watched The Voyage of the Little Mermaid. By this point it was time to check into the hotel and get ready for our Cinderella dinner at the Grand Floridian Hotel.

The next morning we woke up bright and early and headed to the Magic Kingdom to have breakfast with Winnie the Pooh and friends. This was Walker's favorite place. He LOVED seeing all the characters and he would get so excited when they would come close enough to touch. After breakfast we headed straight to the rides. Savannah says her favorite was the Dumbo ride but it looked like she loved the mini roller coaster just as much. She even rode it back to back and attempted to keep her hands up the whole time. I think we're going to have a little thrill seeker on our hands.
We had lunch at Cinderella's table which is always a nice way to meet at least 5 princesses. And then we waited in line to meet some fairies. I was and I still am amazed that Savannah never once complained about all the waiting or the heat. She had no problem waiting 30 minutes to meet Tinkerbelle and she tolerated the heat like a champ. Anyone who knows Savannah knows that's impressive because my little girl can't stand being hot. She passed up several playdates this summer because she said it was too hot to play outside at the park. And she chose not to stay for lunch after camp because she didn't want to get hot on the playground. I can't say that I blame her---it has been pretty hot this summer.
Once the heat and the crowds became a little too unbearable we headed back to our hotel to enjoy the pool. What a great way to cool off after spending the morning and afternoon at the park. Dinner that night was even at our hotel so we were able to take our time at the pool and relax in the room before we headed downstairs to eat at Chef Mickey's.

What a fun whirlwind weekend!! I know Savannah had the greatest time as evidenced by the permanent smile on her face. Even Walker enjoyed some of the trip despite his lack of a decent nap for 3 days. As always, we loved having Grams along. Vacations are always easier and more enjoyable (for the parents at least) when you have an extra set of hands to help out. If only we could convince her to move to Chapel Hill :)
I'm happy to say that we won't be heading back to Disney for at least a year and a half. I need that much time to recover from this trip. Plus it sure will be nice to go when it's not 90+ degrees.
