Every since Savannah's good friend, Katherine, moved to Ashville in May she has been dieing to go visit her. And since I love visiting the Biltmore Estate during the holidays we decided to go the weekend of November 23. We left home bright and early Saturday morning so we could have lunch and visit the grounds before going to the Davis' house to play and have dinner. Savannah had soooo much fun playing with Katherine and her little sister, Caroline and it was great to catch up with her parents. Only a few more months until they welcome another sweet Davis baby.
After a long and busy day we headed to The Grove Park Inn to spend the night. Since we left early Sunday morning we spent no time enjoying our hotel. I hear the spa is wonderful......maybe one day we'll find out :)

Thanksgiving was the following Thursday which it made it very late this year. No wonder so many people started decorating for Christmas before they even carved their turkeys. Not I-----I have to watch the parade before I can fully get in the Christmas spirit.
Michael finally finished his deployment and made it back just in time to spend the holiday with us. Just another thing to give thanks for.
As usual we watched the parade, went out for lunch at The Carolina Inn, came home to start decorating, and some of us watched football and napped. I almost had the house fully decorated by bedtime but it took me a little longer since this year I have an extra helper. The rest of the weekend was spent lazily with no real plans. After a busy month it was a nice, quiet, low-key way to finish it off.
