Last week Savannah, Oscar, and I attended the Fresh Beat Band concert. In case you don't remember from previous posts, they are Savannah's absolute all-time favorite tv show/band. She listens to their CD during all our runs, watches the show multiple times a day, and dresses up like Marina or KiKi at least 4 times a week. Needless to say, she was more than excited leading up to this big event and the whole experience was beyond what I could have hoped for for her.

Before the show, we met up with her friend Brad and his parents for dinner. After the two of them barely eating their dinner and running around the restaurant for about an hour and a half, we finally made our way into the auditorium. I had purchased the VIP Party Package tickets so our seats were on the first row. Savannah had nothing blocking her view of her idols :) She was in total amazement. Whenever Oscar and I tried to clap along she immediately told us "no, stop that!". I guess we were interfering with the music. I had hoped she would stand up, sing, and dance along the way she does at home but I think she was too mesmerized.

The show seemed rather short but I guess that was a good thing especially since it didn't start until after 7:00 pm. When the show ended, we were escorted to the after party where we would hang out and meet the band. Luckily we were in the first batch of people to get our pictures taken because Savannah was fading fast at this point. After a short wait, it was finally our turn. Oscar and I had it all planned out taking into account that Savannah is normally shy and would probably only sit with them if she sat in my lap. So as soon as they said it was out turn, I dropped my bag and turned around to pick her up but she was gone. She had already ran up to Marina and was climbing onto her lap. Oscar and I were in complete shock! Our little shy girl had no problem walking up to her favorite band and sitting in the middle of them all. After that brief 60 seconds, she said goodbye to them and was ready to head home.
