Wow, a year and a half already??!! How can that be?! Our little man is really growing up and it's happening so very fast. He is becoming his own, unique, special little man. Gone are the days of him being quiet, laid-back, and easy going. Now he's opinionated, strong-willed, set-in-his-ways, feisty, and sometimes even a bully. Come to think of it......he's starting to act more and more like his big sister. Although he is still the sweetest, most lovable, snuggly little toddler I've even met. Every minute he melts my heart :)

Walker's 18 Month Milestones/Achievements/Random Tidbits:
~he is able to throw and kick a ball
~he uses a spoon or fork to eat but he becomes frustrated when the food doesn't stay on his fork so then he settles for his fingers
~he has had a wonderful month of no complaints from the ladies in the Stay-n-play at the gym. Hopefully that means that he is done with hitting and pushing other kids. Unfortunately Savannah is still fair game for him. They fight constantly!!
~he's still been battling ear infections quite regularly so at his 18 month doctors appointment we were told it's time to visit the pediatric ENT to have tubes put in.
~his speech seems to be delayed compared to other toddlers his age but this could be due to the frequency of ear infections impairing his hearing or it just may be that both our kiddos are late talkers. Once the tubes are put in his ears, we will reevaluate this area.
~he is still quite the picky eater. Even things he once liked he will no longer touch. His current faves are kids Cliff bars, dried fruit strips, applesauce, cheddar cheese, yogurt, cheddar bunnies, and whole milk.
~he loves to make kissy sounds so I'm hoping any day now he'll combine the sounds with the hand motion to do blowing kisses.
~he has started to wear the puddle jumper float in the pool and he absolutely LOVES to go into the deep end and roll from his front to his back. He feels like such a big boy out with the big kids swimming around him.
~I am amazed that he is able to fit into a few of his clothes from last summer! He wears mostly 18-24 month and some size 2 clothes and he's still in a size 5 diaper. Can you believe he's been wearing a size 5 diaper for over 10 months?! We always knew he was a big baby and looking back now I can see that he was an ENORMOUS 6 month old :)

Walker's 18 Month Doctors Visit:
Weight: 29 lbs 0.5 oz (98th percentile)--1 lb 13 oz bigger than at 15 months
Height: 33 inches--1.25 inches taller
Head Circumference: 49.7 cm--0.5 cm bigger
He had an ear infection in his left ear and fluid in his right ear so he received two shots of an antibiotic. He also had blood drawn to check his iron levels and platelet count. Platelets were good but iron is low so he needs to start taking a daily multivitamin.
I think that about sums up my 1 and a half year old......sigh. Why do the months have to pass by so quickly?? Can't we just linger here in these sweet, fun, and cute toddler days some more? Before I know it he'll be off to preschool and as Savannah says, I'll "be all alone at home by (my)self." Oh well, now on to the 19th month.
